This week we talked about what rules are and what rules we follow in certain places/areas of our classroom (Ready to Learn- on the carpet, Ready to work- at the tables/centers, Ready for the Hall- traveling in our school). We also talked about our classroom community and how we can be good citizens in it.
We have some amazing architects on our hands! Our class loves to build and they are great at it!
We celebrated Sophia's birthday with a yummy treat!
We had our first Mandarin class! We loved meeting our new teacher and welcoming into our classroom!
We ended our week reading with friends and observing the airplanes from the airshow out our window!
What does it mean to be Ready to Learn in Kindergarten?
We had so much fun in our first few days of K! We focused on getting to know each other, learning about and feeling comfortable in our new environment and talking about the Essential Agreements. We focused on the first three to start.
CIS Essential Agreements
2. Stay with the group
3. Respect personal space
4. Speak kindly
5. Be inclusive
6. Respect the environment
We learned each others names, favorite foods and games, then played in small groups in different centers.
Our first full days
On our first two full days, we started with our Morning Meeting. We read a message from Ms. Dottore and then do the calendar and weather.
We practiced playing in different centers and then switching.
We went to Art with Ms. Cohen.
We went over the Essential Agreements on the Playground and then got to practice while we played!
