We have been talking a lot about traditions people celebrate as well as how people celebrate them. We are really enjoying hearing each other's stories and learning about each other's families.
The full moon that appeared last Sunday led to much talk about the sky. We explored and learned a little more about the daytime sky. In Math, we explored shapes and their attributes while working in groups.

We have been talking a lot about Thanksgiving and how we celebrate the holiday. We have also been talking about what it means to express ourselves. We made a connection to this when we saw that our graham cracker snacks had emojis on them and emojis show different emotions!
Gia was earned the Learner Profile Award this month for "reflective." She is always reflective about her learning and working hard to continue to grow!
Picture
We had a lot of fun on our first field trip to Shaker Lakes Nature Center! We learned about living vs. non-living things and what living things need to survive. We got to go on a nature walk and collect things we found. When we got back inside we were able to take a closer look at our findings!

How We Express Ourselves

Noa kicked off our new planner by sharing with us a little about her heritage and traditions. She explained a little bit about Hanukkah and the Menorah! This new planner is all about how heritage is reflected through expression (arts, customs, traditions, family celebrations, and and language). We will have so much fun learning about different holidays/celebrations/traditions and learn so much about each other!  We would love to have family members come in and share too! Let me know if you are interested and we can setup a schedule!
We will be working on this planner through December.
We love Center time! So much fun and so much practice, learning, teamwork, creativity, and cooperation all while doing it!
Even though it was a really short week, we made time for our 4th Grade Read Buddies! They even made us books!
